Arts & Culture The Nord Family Foundation support for arts organizations includes those in the performing and visual arts. Although the Foundation seeks to fund programs that demonstrate innovation, The Foundation realizes that innovation and creativity is the essence of what Arts organizations do. For that reason, the Foundation provides general operating support to arts organizations giving them the freedom to do what they do best – serve as the creative muse to the community. In times of economic hardship, the arts can be an outlet for children who find a sense of belonging and family as in the case with M.A.D. Factory in Oberlin, or a place for self expression and praise as with Messengers of God. Some arts programs provide youngsters an opportunity to explore the option of serious music instruction as with The Longy School in Cambridge Massachusetts, or the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra, at Oberlin, Ohio.
