AMHERST, OH – The Nord Family Foundation announced the list of nonprofit organizations in the fields of health and social services, education, civic affairs, and arts that have been awarded grants this cycle. At the June 20, 2015 Board of Trustees meeting, grants approved totaled $1,929,450 to be disbursed in Lorain County, Ohio; Cuyahoga County, Ohio; Columbia, South Carolina; Metro Denver, Colorado; Penn Yan, New York and other areas of interest. Thirty-eight other actions totaling $131,851 were also ratified at the meeting bringing the total grants authorized in this round to $2,061,301. Attached is a complete list of the grants authorized by the Trustees at their recent meeting.
The Nord Family Foundation is a successor to the charitable trust originally established by Walter G. Nord in 1952. The predecessor organization contributed more than $12 million to a variety of charitable causes between 1953 and 1988, primarily in Lorain County, Ohio. The Nord Family Foundation has contributed more than $106 million to nonprofit organizations in northern Ohio and selected geographic areas of family interest.
